In April, 2026, the Astropotamus will be heading to New Mexico for an incredible visit at the Very Large Array (VLA), The University of New Mexico Observatory, and the final Gathering of Nations Powwow. An amazing opportunity to join the VLA open house, some "behind-the-scenes" tours, and exclusive interviews with VLA and NRAO scientists and staff. From there, it's off to the Long Wavelength Array (LWA) for more tours and interviews for The Star River Podcast.
After that, it's time to head to Albuquerque for more tours and interviews at the UNM Observatory and hopefully some discussion with the future navigators of the Star River - students. The trip winds up at the final Gathering of Nations powwow where we'll be connecting with the drummers and dancers whose ancestors have been traveling the Star River for countless generations.
While there, we'll have exclusive access to the VLA and hope to get some images suitable for printing on metal plates. Join the Astropotamus on Ko-fi at the Pathfinder level in the month of April, and secure your copy of this exclusive item as a way of saying "thanks" for supporting our mission and our New Mexico Expedition!
