📡 MISSION UPDATE: I'm heading to New Mexico in April for the Very Large Array open house, star party, exclusive tours, Star River Podcast interviews, and lots more! Join as a Pathfinder this month to directly fuel this journey and secure your limited-edition VLA Metal Print! 🚀
Ever wonder why I ask for support to run the Star River Podcast? Let's take a look at what it costs.
| Expense | Amount |
|---|---|
| Domain Registration* | $ 20 |
| Email Account* | $ 10 |
| Cloud Storage (2TB)* | $ 100 |
| Legal and Logistics | $ 20 |
| Web Hosting | $ 20 |
| Static IP Addresses | $ 15 |
| Podcast Hosting Service | $ 15 |
| Online Recording Studio Service | $ 25 |
| Total Monthly Equivalent | about $106 |
*This is an annual expense, but I show it here as its monthly equivalent.
Some of these expenses have tax on top of them, so in round numbers its over $110 per month for me to do the Star River Podcast. That doesn't include the PC or software I use to edit episodes, my microphone or stand or filters, the cost of drinks for The Ritual, or my or my guests' time (which is invaluable). I don't do this because I expect to make a living being a podcaster; I do it because I love talking to people about space and their connection to the stars. If you want to help me pay for some of these items, I'll give you a shout-out on the podcast. If you want to be a guest yourself, that helps me connect with more people, and I'd love to have you!
Until the next bend in the River... clear skies, and I'll see you in the dark!
